April Update
May. 1st, 2009 11:58 amI'm not quite sure what happened this month or how I only managed to complete one book! That's not very good at all. I finished all the Wardstone Chronicles books that I'd borrowed from the library, but I got some more books out to replace them. I'll have to get my finger out, that's for sure!
Total completed: 14 down, 36 to go.
Books Completed
The Spook's Battle ~ Joseph Delaney
Books ongoing
Traditional Tales From Long Long Ago ~ Philip Wilson
Boston City Guide ~ Mara Vorhees and John Spelman
Deviant Strain ~ Justin Richards (eBook)
Hello Cruel World: 101 Alternatives to Teen Suicide ~ Kate Bornstein
The Stealers of Dreams ~ Steve Lyons

Welcome to DW!
Love the icon, btw :)
The holiday was really nice. We get 4 weeks paid (for full time workers) & this was our mandatory 2-week block taken at once (work requirement). We usually do a "big" trip like this every few years & we went to the other end of the country. Loved the landscape and the slower pace of life.
It's nice that you get to have two weeks together, even if it is enforced. It's good to get a decent break like that, especially if it gives you chance to explore.
It is nice, we take our time off together usually although she gets a few days more since she's been there for 29 years. It's nice & we do enjoy spending time together. We met online and we joke that we have a lot of time to catch up on. We met almost 10 years ago & I moved here from the US to be with her.
I didn't realise you met online and moved there to be with her. That's like me and Michael, we met online - on LJ actually - but we've not done the moving bit yet.
Edit (sorry, fingers slipped): Any plans on when to move and who's going where? or is that all still a bit too far off?
Well, it's all still a bit up in the air at the moment though I think it's going to be me going to the US. Boston is just so good when it comes to LGBT stuff and I love the city anyway. It's just a pain in the arse to get into the US.
Yeah, we were up in the air and originally she was going to come to the US. But I visited here and we went to an immigration lawyer just before I went back home (free consult FTW!). It sounded easier and more likely I would be able to come to NZ and get residency than the other way. That was in 2000, I came in March 01. I've read Michael's posts about LGBT stuff in Boston & it does sound like a good place to be, a lot happening. Good luck getting over there and getting through immigration!
